Emily Irene VanCamp, who initially wanted to become a professional dancer, grew attracted to acting when she hung out with her sister Katie on The Ladies Room set. The actress began taking acting classes, and also landed appearances on television shows from her home country of Canada. The shows she had starred in among others included: Are You Scared of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp had a career breakthrough after he was cast on the WB horror-mystery series Glory Days as Sam Dolan. Even though the show was receiving favorable reviews, the show unfortunately had to be pulled after only nine episode due to its poor ratings. Actually, the 12th of May 1986 actress from the United States had a quick time securing a new position in Everwood as a member of the main cast Amy Abbott. It was for this role that she received nominations from the Young Artist Award, and she also won four Teen Choice Awards.
